6 Ways to Help Calcium Oxalate Stones Pass Without Surgery

October 21, 2021 December 30, 2021 / By kidneycop

Oxalate stones or kidney stones are painful and unsettling conditions. Many people suffering from this ailment wonder if they will need surgery to be cured. Fortunately, you can often manage this condition at home and the stones will pass naturally.

When Do You Need Surgery?

There are several circumstances that can make a surgical procedure necessary.

  • Calcium oxalate stones are too large to pass on their own.
  • Stones are blocking the flow of urine.
  • You are experiencing extreme pain, vomiting, fever, or other severe symptoms.

If any of these situations apply to you, it’s important to seek medical advice promptly. A physician can tell you if surgery is needed. In less severe cases, however, there are quite a few alternatives, such as taking supplements to reduce oxalates.

Ways to Pass Stones Without Surgery

In many cases, it’s possible to pass calcium oxalate stones without surgery. The following are six ways this can be done.

  1. Dietary Changes:

Making changes to your diet can help with uric acid stone prevention. There are certain foods to avoid with calcium oxalate stones. Avoid or reduce foods high in oxalates, including dark green vegetables, beets, soy products and many beans. When you are on a low-oxalate diet, you’ll have to research everything you eat. This can be tedious at first. However, you’ll find that there are still many tasty and nutritious foods you can consume.

  1. Stay hydrated:

Drinking water is one of the best ways to help stones pass naturally and to prevent new ones from forming. Keep in mind that beverages such as alcohol, soda, energy drinks, and coffee aren’t as effective as pure water and may even have a dehydrating effect. A certain amount of unsweetened fruit juice is good, preferably a juice with a high citric acid content, which supports kidney health and even calcium oxalate stone prevention.

  1. Gentle Exercise:

If you have kidney stones, you don’t want to overdo it. However, cautious exercise is beneficial. This includes walking, light cardio and yoga can help you prevent and pass stones. Ask your physician what type of exercise is safe. If you experience any pain while working out, stop at once.

  1. Medication For Uric Acid Stones:

Your doctor may prescribe medication such as alpha-blockers to help stones pass painlessly.

  1. Lose Weight:

Excess weight is one of the most significant risk factors for kidney stones. If you’re looking for a long-term solution to prevent this problem, make an effort to reach and maintain a healthy weight.

  1. Natural Supplements For Calcium Oxalate Stone Prevention:

If you are looking for natural supplements to reduce oxalates, you have quite a few choices. There are a variety of vitamins, minerals, and herbs that show promise when it comes to controlling oxalate stones. If you search for calcium oxalate stone prevention, you’ll find recommendations to take magnesium, drink lemon juice or consume other nutrients. A more focused approach is to find a formula that combines these and other ingredients shown in clinical trials to help stop oxalate stone growth.

Kidney C.O.P. (Calcium Oxalate Protector) is a formula made only with proven formula tested and proven to reduce oxalates crystal growth. In fact, research shows that this formula reduces the formation and growth of calcium oxalate stones by 99%. There are five active ingredients in Kidney C.O.P.:

  • Vitamin B6
  • Magnesium Citrate
  • Citric Acid
  • Phytin
  • Musa (Banana Stem)

Scientists have studied the active ingredients in Kidney C.O.P.® and suggest they work by:

  • Calcium oxalate solubility – Citrate binding with calcium to form urine soluble molecules and produce fewer non soluble calcium oxalate crystals
  • Raising urine citrate allows for a higher saturation limit reducing the ability for calcium oxalate crystals to grow (which leads to crystallization in the kidneys)
  • Raising urine pH increases calcium oxalate solubility which inhibits the crystallization of calcium oxalate in the kidney
  • Providing diuretic properties that can assist in the flushing of the kidneys and the dissolution of calcium oxalate
  • Preventing absorption of calcium through the intestines results in less calcium crystallizing in the kidney
